History
Hebel started in 1943 in West Germany by a building contracted named Josef Hebel. His intention was to help reduce waste from the landfills in World War 2 and recycle the debris.
Hebel is a lightweight autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) building material. Manufactured from sand, lime and cement, to which a gas forming agent is added. The raw materials are then mixed with water and aliminium paste and poured into a mould where it is cut and steam pressure cured in an autoclaved before being packed, ready for transportation.
Today Hebel is manufactured in 10 countries with Japan supplying Hebel as a major share in masonry requirements.
